Business Tax Manager/ Senior Manager (Construction expertise)

Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious business tax manager or senior manager with particular interest and expertise in construction clients, mentoring younger staff, seeking ongoing learning, and providing exemplary client service.

Tax Managers operate as leaders and mentors within our Firm by demonstrating the ability to: Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.

Develop recommendations and maintaining client relationships by balancing the client needs along with other assignments and deadlines.

Provide proactive advice based on their knowledge of tax law, particularly within business tax.

Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead.

Leverage technology to automate both internal and client processes to improve efficiency.

Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Directors and Partners.

Requirements We are seeking an individual who is curious, self-motivated, and a team player with the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in managerial role preferred CPA-certified and active license Expertise in management of business and entity tax compliance and providing knowledgeable insight into construction clients Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients Feels empowered to provide solutions and ideas Values professional development Exhibits excellent project and team leadership, and communication skills Shares our focus on growth and problem-solving Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC is an accounting, advisory, and IT services firm headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, with satellite offices in the Chicago Loop, Downtown Miami, and the Philippines.
