We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Junior Underwriter to join our team.
This role is responsible for supporting the underwriting process by evaluating risk, reviewing applications, gathering and analyzing information, and assisting in the development of coverage recommendations.
The ideal candidate is analytical, customer focused, and eager to build a career in the insurance industry.
Your Impact: Drive profitable portfolio performance by managing a dedicated book of renewal business, conducting comprehensive underwriting reviews approximately 90 days prior to expiration through detailed analysis of applications, prior policies, endorsements, loss history, online presence, and other risk indicators, while proactively escalating accounts that fall outside program guidelines.

Provide strategic underwriting recommendations by preparing thorough referral packages for accounts exceeding authority limits, presenting clear risk assessments, supporting documentation, and well-reasoned underwriting analysis to facilitate informed decision making.
Maintain audit ready policy documentation through the ongoing organization, management, and quality control of electronic policy files, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Deliver operational excellence by issuing Package, Commercial Marine, and Umbrella/Bumbershoot policies within 48 hours of receipt, ensuring accuracy and compliance with underwriting proposals and binding instructions.
Strengthen underwriting compliance by proactively obtaining, tracking, and following up on outstanding broker documentation to ensure complete and compliant policy files.
Enhance broker relationships and service excellence by serving as a trusted point of contact for policy, coverage, and billing inquiries, delivering timely communication and fostering strong business partnerships.
Successful Candidates Will Have: An associate’s degree from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related work experience.

A strong desire to stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
